Deep Breath.

Yes. It’s true. taking a deep breath can do wonders for our nervous system. But there are some creative ways to breathe so that you can take that automatic respiratory movement up a notch and get out of an automatic negative thought process.

Use these breath tools to snap out of it!

  • Crocodile Breath - get on the floor, lay on your stomach and take some very deep breaths with your belly into the floor. This creates an isometric contraction with the abdominal diaphragm that helps to support the parasympathetic nervous system.

  • Box Breathing - Take a few normal breaths in and out through your nose. Then inhale for a count of 4, hold for a count of four, exhale for a count of four, then hold for a count of four. Continue breathing in this formation for 5 minutes.
